I will be visiting the park with my wife and my son for his 2nd birthday on April 19th and i was hoping to have a caricature done of him in new Orleans square. Can we book a slot ahead of time as they are always full when we get there.

Hey howdy hey, Jake! You’ve got a friend in me at planDisney!

I’m so excited for you to celebrate your son’s second birthday at the Happiest Place on Earth next month! You’re going to make so many magical memories together!

Having a caricature drawing done is a great way to commemorate this special day. I checked with a Cast Member, and was told that reservations aren’t currently required to have a caricature done in New Orleans Square. However, there may be a waitlist depending on how busy the day is, so I recommend stopping by there as soon as you arrive at Disneyland Park to find out if there’s a waitlist, or if you can get it done right away. This fun spot can be found next to Cafe Orleans, and right across from Blue Bayou Restaurant. Expect to spend about 20-30 minutes per person on this experience.

If you have trouble getting your son’s caricature done in New Orleans Square, you may also be able to find a caricature artist in Downtown Disney District. There used to be one near World of Disney, in addition to one near The LEGO Store. I’m not positive if they’re still operating currently, so I recommend asking a Cast Member in Downtown Disney District if either of these locations are available.

Also, don’t forget to nab a complimentary birthday button for your special birthday boy! You can get one from City Hall on Main Street, U.S.A. in Disneyland Park on your way in. Did you know that you can also add a Mickey Mouse Celebration Cake for delivery to select table-service restaurants throughout the Disneyland Resort? This would be a fun way to surprise your son at his birthday dinner!

Last but not least, I recommend checking out a Character Dining experience to help celebrate your little Mouseketeer! My family loves Minnie & Friends – Breakfast in the Park. It’s the perfect way to start your day with a delicious spread of scrumptious food, including made-to-order omelets and Mickey waffles! Your son will get a kick out of all the Characters that parade through the restaurant throughout your meal.

I hope this information helps you make all your son’s birthday dreams come true, Jake! Please stop back with any additional questions… we’re all EARs!

    See ya’ real soon,
