Hello. We will be visiting the park from Sept 8-14. I noticed a few of the days clashed with the Mickey's Halloween event. Do we have to leave the park once that event starts since we did not purchase tickets to that event?

    Hiya, Brett!

Welcome to planDisney, friend! Hip, hip, hooray! Your adventure to The Most Magical Place on Earth is just a few short weeks away. I am sure your entire Ohana is getting excited about your upcoming stay. This is a fabulous question and an important one too! Let's go over what to do when Magic Kingdom Park is closing early for a special ticket event.

Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is a special event that requires a separate ticket that is different than a traditional theme park ticket. Magic Kingdom Park closes at 6 PM on the evenings that the event takes place, and Guests with a Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party ticket will be given a special wristband. Guests that do not have a ticket will be unable to stay for the event. So what to do if your plans are for Magic Kingdom Park on an event day?

If you want to keep your current itinerary, this is a great opportunity to head back to your resort for a relaxing dinner or evening swim (or both)! Walt Disney World Resort Collection hotels offer a wide variety of dining options and recreation amenities. This may be the perfect reason to enjoy all that your resort has to offer. Plus, a late-night swim feels great after a long day at the parks! If you have the Park Hopper option on your theme park ticket, you can use this time to head off to another resort to finish your magical day. Another great way to end the evening is a trip to Disney Springs for some fabulous dining options and shopping.

If you prefer to switch your park days to visit Magic Kingdom Park on dates that there is not a special event, you can cancel your current Park Pass reservations and book new ones. Now, I must caution you on this switch. Before canceling your current Park Pass reservations, be sure to check the availability calendar to ensure that the dates you are hoping to switch to have openings! Once you have confirmed that the park you wish to visit has availability, cancel your current reservations and make new ones immediately. Waiting for a few days or even hours could mean reservations are filled and you will not be able to visit the park you desire on each day. I would feel terrible if you tried to change your plans for the better only to find yourself in a situation that is less than ideal.

I hope that your upcoming adventure is memorable and magical!
    We'll see ya real soon!
