I am visiting the park in October for the food and wine festival and noticed you can buy gift cards that are special for the event. Could i get those ahead of time or do i have to wait until I get to the park that day.

    Hi Jeanine,

I'm already counting the days until the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival, which opens earlier this year on August 31 and continues through November 13. It's one of my favorite times of the year at Walt Disney World.

I frequently purchase the commemorative miniature gift cards attached to a bracelet for my family members during the festival. Not only are they a convenient and quick way to pay at each of the Global Marketplaces, they are a great way to keep track of your tasting and sipping budget. The gift cards are available in any amount you choose and can be reloaded as often as you like if you have underestimated how many delicious tastes you want to try.

The commemorative gift cards normally are not available for advance purchase. But no worries! You can get them at multiple convenient locations throughout Epcot, including the Festival Center, the World Traveler gift shop at the International Gateway entrance and at kiosks and gift shops near the front entrance.

Your question now has me thinking about my own Food & Wine Festival plans, Jeanine. We also love the culinary demonstrations and beverage seminars that take place during the festival. They're fun and informational and, normally at less than $20 each, a good value. Those schedules and reservations usually are released in July, so stay tuned! I'm keeping an eye on the Disney Parks Blog for news.

Thanks for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. Please check back again if we can help in any other way as you anticipate your October vacation. Enjoy!
