I will be visiting the park January 26-29th 2012 with 2 young kids. I noticed Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios don't have any "nighttime" shows. Is anything going on after dusk in-place of the shows that are not going on?

Hi Heather! During this time of year the parks often have shorter hours because of the crowd levels.  It is also a time when parades and shows go "dark" meaning they close down for a few days to repair and rejuvenate what needs to be done.

During the dates you mentioned you will be able to see Wishes, the fireworks show in the Magic Kingdom, every night at 8:00pm.  The last parade in this park would be the street party at 5:40pm called Move It, Shake It, Celebrate It. The only parade at Hollywood Studios will be the Pixar Pals, Countdown to Fun at 3:00pm daily. The Studios will be closing at 7:00pm each night thus no shows will be scheduled.

EPCOT will continue to have their fabulous show, Illuminations at 9:00pm.  Although it isn't a great view you can often catch the higher fireworks from locations around the Boardwalk without going into the park.
