I am visiting the park for the first time in my life from Japan. Do you have any recommendations for attractions, shows, or ways to spend time?

Hello Yuki, and welcome to planDisney!

Thanks for stopping by as you prepare for your adventure to the Happiest Place on Earth. Nothing is as magical as stepping into a Disney Park for your first time, and I'd be honored to assist with your upcoming vacation. I will recommend accommodations, time management strategies, and attractions to help maximize your days at Disneyland Resort.

First, if you can, stay at one of the three onsite Disneyland hotels. My favorite is Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. This resort is incredibly themed and immersive and as close to the theme parks as possible, featuring a private entrance to Disney California Adventure Park. Pixar Place Hotel is another excellent choice, having just reopened after a renovation. By staying at an onsite resort, you're eligible for Early Entry, a valuable perk, especially when you want to make the most of your time.

Regarding time management and ways to spend your days, I recommend adding the Park Hopper option to your theme park tickets for the most flexibility. If time allows, spending at least three days in the theme parks is ideal for experiencing the best of both parks. On a three-day visit, I reserve two days in Disneyland Park and one in Disney California Adventure Park, knowing that I can be spontaneous in the afternoon and evening with the Park Hopper option.

Now, let's focus on attractions. I suggest focusing on quintessential Disney attractions and unique experiences for a first-time visit. Some of my these in Disneyland Park include Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway, "it's a small world," Indiana Jones™ Adventure, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. "Magic Happens" Parade is my favorite live entertainment in Disneyland Resort. Check the Disneyland mobile app for parade times and line up at least thirty minutes before show time for the best view.

In Disney California Adventure Park, prioritize Cars Land and Avengers Campus, two of the most immersive theme park spaces here. Radiator Springs Racers is my favorite attraction, and I recommend riding as soon as the park opens and then again in the evening to experience the neon lights of Route 66. Use the single rider line here for a shorter wait. There are two fun attractions on the Avengers Campus: WEB Slingers: A Spider-Man Adventure and Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission BREAKOUT! I also like to dine at Pym Test Kitchen to taste the Ant-Man-inspired dishes and view the area's live entertainment. Cap off a perfect day with World of Color: ONE. This impressive nighttime spectacular is presented on the lagoon in Pixar Pier each evening; secure your spot in the viewing area by joining the virtual queue on the Disneyland mobile app at noon.

I hope this has been helpful, Yuki, and you have some new things to consider for your upcoming trip. I'll offer one final tip! Utilizing Disney Genie+ Service each day of your visit will help maximize your time and avoid spending time in standby lines. You can purchase this on the Disneyland mobile app when you scan your ticket at the theme park entrance. It might be just the assistance you need to summon to make your trip even more magical!

Thanks for sending your question our way, and please write back if there's anything else we can do before your adventure begins.
