Hey there, Jennifer. Greetings and welcome to planDisney. We're so glad you stopped by to ask us your question. I have visited the Disneyland Resort on many different occasions when special ticketed events are taking place (both as a guest attending and not attending the event) and I'm happy to share my experience.
Disneyland After Dark: Throwback Nite is scheduled to begin at 9:00 p.m. on their scheduled days (April 18 and April 20) and Disneyland Park is scheduled to close at 8:00 p.m. on both of these nights. Early mix-in starts at 6:00 p.m. where Guests attending this special event are able to enter 3 hours before the party begins. As it gets closer to park closing, you will begin to see areas of the park begin to be roped off and Cast Members will be checking to see if you have a ticket to attend the party. You will still be able to enjoy the park until the official close time, however, if you do not have a ticket for the event, you will be asked to exit the park once the shindig has officially started.
If you're feeling like a night owl and not ready to call it an evening, no need to worry. If you have a Park Hopper ticket, you can easily hop on over to Disney California Adventure Park to finish and enjoy the rest of your evening in the park across the esplanade. You can even catch the later showtime of
World of Color - ONE. If you don't have a Park Hopper ticket, you can also find entertainment, shopping and dining in
Downtown Disney District.
Jennifer, I hope this has been helpful. Please come back to visit us with any other questions you might have. Your visit will be here before you know it and there's so much to explore at the Disneyland Resort. Make sure to check out the
Disney100 Celebration guide for special festive and celebratory offerings.
