Hi Tami!
I'm glad you stopped by to be part of our world here at planDisney. Before you know it, your whole family will be walking down Main Street, U.S.A., and enjoying a wonderful vacation together! Let's see how we can get all of you to the parks and ready to start your day.
Tami, all theme parks have a designated area for guest drop-off. I was able to chat with a helpful Cast Member so that I could provide you with the best information to help your family with how to utilize the drop-off as well as
parking. She shared that when you are approaching the parking plaza, you will want to proceed as you normally would to enter the parking lot. If you are a guest of a
Disney Resorts Collection hotel, standard parking is complimentary. All other visitors to the park will need to pay the current parking rate. Once you have cleared the parking plaza, you should be able to proceed to the drop-off area to allow your parents to get out closer to the entrance. You can then go park the car and meet up with them before entering the park. Just a quick note that parking and guest drop-off for Magic Kingdom Park is at the
Transportation and Ticket Center - not directly at the park entrance. Here you'll be able to drop your parents off near the monorail and ferry boat which will provide transportation over to the park entrance.
If you are interested in accessing closer parking for the whole family, the theme parks offer preferred parking at a slightly higher cost. Guests staying at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel only need to pay the difference between the standard parking and this preferred parking - making it a very affordable option! There is also handicap parking available for guests with appropriate tags.
I also wanted to share that Walt Disney World Resort offers
ECV rentals at each of the theme parks, water parks, and Disney Springs which may be helpful given the mobility issues you shared. Days in the parks can be quite long and some guests may find the use of an ECV beneficial on a Disney vacation even if they don't always use one at home. While you're exploring all the parks have to offer, I recommend stopping by the
EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival. I love tasting my way around World Showcase at all of the Outdoor Kitchens and catching a glimpse at all of the beautiful topiaries!
Tami, I hope you and your family enjoy making many cherished memories together at the Most Magical Place on Earth! If you have any other questions, please stop by and see me or my panelist pals here at planDisney again - we're all ears!
Cheers,
Kristi
