We will be visiting Orlando January 11-18 2025. I am worried about crowds from the RunDisney event but am hopeful we can strategize around them. We hope to do four park days total. Can you provide any advice on which days might be best for lower crowds?

    Hi Katie!

Visiting the Walt Disney World Resort during a runDisney weekend can be both exciting and a bit busy, but there are ways to make the most of it. One thing about the majority of runDisney races is that you'll find runners hitting the pavement early, usually starting before any of us even thinks about getting out of bed, which means they're usually wrapping up by the time the parks open at 9 AM.

So, while there might be a bit of overlap with park-goers and runners in the morning, it’s cool to see people accomplishing their goals. It adds a unique and exciting buzz to the atmosphere.

To handle the crowds, you might want to plan your park days strategically. For instance, if Magic Kingdom Park has runners one day, you could opt for Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park or Disney's Hollywood Studios instead. You can find race routes right on the runDisney site. Also, taking advantage of Early Theme Park Entry if you’re staying at a Disney resort can be a game-changer. Getting in a bit earlier means you can hit some key rides before things get too busy.

And don’t forget about Disney Genie+. This can help you spend less time waiting in line for popular attractions, which is a huge plus during busier times. Overall, with a little flexibility and some good planning, you’ll have a blast. Plus, cheering on the runners can be surprisingly inspiring. It’s all part of the magic of Disney!
