We are only visiting Orlando for a few days and don’t require the 14/7 day tickets. Can I buy tickets prior to departing the uk just for 4/5 days? And if so can I add genie +?

Hiya Aimee! Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question!

Whether you live nearby or across the Atlantic, any length of trip to the Walt Disney World Resort is bound to be a magical time! I'm excited that you are able to visit at the end of March. You'll be arriving just in time to experience the 50th Anniversary Celebration that will be coming to a close at the end of the month! There are nighttime spectaculars, commemorative merchandise, and tasty treats to check out while you are there!

Currently, Guests residing in the UK can purchase Disney Magic Tickets in either 7 or 14-day increments. If you wish to purchase a lesser amount of days, you'll need to wait until your arrival to the United States to access the US-based Walt Disney World website to purchase tickets. Once here, you can purchase either 4 or 5-day park tickets easily online. My only hesitation if you decide to wait is not being able to make park reservations to the parks you wish to visit each day. Walt Disney World has implemented the Disney Park Pass System which requires Guests to make reservations to the first park they visit each day. You can check availability using the theme park availability calendar, but dates will start to fill up in advance.

I would consider comparing the cost of a 7-day Disney Magic Ticket to the cost of a 5-day park ticket purchased in the US to see if there is much of a difference. There are also several benefits that you will receive with your purchase of Magic Tickets, including the Park Hopper Option and Memory Maker. Each of these is an additional add-on that does not come included in the cost of a US-based ticket.

Disney Genie+ cannot be added on before your arrival regardless of what type of ticket you buy. You'll need to purchase this service each day you plan to use it using the My Disney Experience Mobile App. Once stateside, download the app to your mobile device and log into your account. Then, on each park day, open the app in the morning and you'll see a purple bar that reads "Disney Genie+ Service." You'll then need to tap on "Purchase" to start the process. Select the Guests that would like to use it that day and follow the prompts for payment. You'll need to follow these same steps each day in order to use it.

Aimee, I hope this information helps you plan for your upcoming visit! Stop back anytime to see us at planDisney!

    See ya real soon!
