Hey there, Donna. Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question about park pass reservations.
Donna, I think you are going to want to switch some of your
park pass reservations around. With the park hopper ticket, you will need a park pass reservation for the first Walt Disney World Theme Park you would like to visit each day of your trip. Then, after 2:00 p.m. when park hopping begins, you are pretty much free to go wherever you'd like. The only stipulation is, you must scan in and enter the theme park with the park pass reservation before continuing on to other theme parks. This sort of "activates" your park hopper feature each day.
So on your visit in October, if you'd like to go to Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park one morning, you will need to make your park pass reservation for that theme park. You'll go there in the morning, hopefully early so you can experience Avatar Flight Of Passage with little to no wait time, and enjoy. Then, once you are ready to park hop over to Epcot and it's 2:00 p.m. or after, you are free to bounce around wherever you'd like. You can visit all three of the other theme parks or just one, the choice is yours. You do not need to make additional park pass reservations to park hop, in fact, you can't hold two park pass reservations for one day. The system does not allow that.
Here is a quick breakdown of how
park hopping is currently working:
- Guests wishing to park hop must have valid theme park admission with the park hopper option
- Guests wishing to park hop must have park pass reservations for the initial theme park they wish to visit each day
- On the day of, Guests must scan in and enter the theme park with the park pass reservation before continuing on to other theme parks
- It is not necessary or possible to hold more than one park pass reservation per day
- To make things a little more convenient for Guests, complimentary park-to-park bus transportation is currently being provided
If you do need to switch your park pass reservations around, Donna, I highly encourage you to check out the
Walt Disney World Theme Park Availability Calendar first, to make sure there are still openings at the theme parks you'd like to switch to. If there is, what you'll need to do is go ahead and cancel the park pass reservations that you are trying to change around and make all new selections. The system doesn't allow any changes so you need to cancel them out and then start the process over. Only do this though, if there is still availability. If there isn't you'll just need to shift your itinerary around a little bit. You can enjoy Epcot in the morning and afternoon and then head over to Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park for the evening hours which is a really beautiful time to visit.
I hope this is making sense, Donna. If you have any other questions about this or anything else before your trip, please feel free to stop back by and
ask me. I'm happy to help.
Have fun!
