Hi there, Cali. Welcome to planDisney.
Oh my goodness, you are
be-headed to the Most Magical Place on Earth during the spookiest season of the year! You've chosen one of the best times to visit when "hinges creak in doorless chambers, and strange and frightening sounds echo through the halls." I'm so excited for you!
And to make this magical vacation even more magical, you are going to see the new
Disney Starlight Parade! Cali, I was at Walt Disney World a few weeks ago and saw this parade for the first time. Let me tell you, you are in for a treat better than Halloween candy!
So, let's talk about good viewing spots. This parade is absolutely dazzling, and you'll want to view it without obstructions, like those you may find at The Plaza Restaurant. I have heard of others managing to score just the right table at just the right time at
Tony's Town Square Restaurant. However, getting that ideal table often requires a bit of luck, as you can't request specific tables in advance. While I highly recommend this restaurant and their Tortellini and Italian Sausage al Forno (yum), I would hate for you to make a reservation there only to find that the perfect spots are already being taken and you miss the parade.
Here are a few tips I picked up from my experience. First, if there is a second showing, I recommend choosing that one. You'll find it less crowded and will have more seating options. If you prefer to see the first show, or if there is only one showing the night you attend, I suggest lining up anywhere along the parade route for the best views. When it comes to dinner and a parade, I like to
mobile order a delicious hot dog from
Casey's Corner or a yummy meal from
Pinocchio Village Haus and enjoy dinner while waiting for the parade to begin.
Along the parade route around
Cinderella Castle is the most popular area, where you'll need to line up the earliest. Personally, I watched the parade from Liberty Square and truly had the best view! I wish you could see the amazing pictures I captured. (and because I watched the second showing of the parade, I didn't line up for my viewing spot until after the
Happily Ever After fireworks.) You'll also find great viewing in Frontierland.
Cali, I hope this information helps you decide how best you'd like to view the parade. Keep in mind that the new nighttime parade will not be shown on a day when a
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is scheduled.
I'm wishing on Blue Fairy magic that you'll have the most wonderful vacation. We are Guests just like you, and we want nothing more than to help you plan the most magical vacation, so please let us know if we can help with anything else.
Happy planning,
Shonette
