we will be visiting in oct. 2011. we usually only stay for 7 nights but have decided to stay for 10 nights. we always stay at POP (we have a 2 year old son) we thought of splitting our hotel between POP and Coronado. any suggestions would be helpful.

    Hi Nichole!

October is such an awesome time to visit - the weather is gorgeous!!!  I have never regretted staying extra nights at Walt Disney World.  I am so torn about switching resorts during my own personal vacations...on one hand, I love trying new resorts and on the other hand, I hate to pick up and move when we are all settled.  Let's look at the pros and cons to both!

On the positive side, there is nothing better than checking out new resorts!  Disney helps to make your transition as smooth as possible by delivering your luggage to the new resort.  Simply bring your bags to the bell services desk and let them know that you are checking into a new resort that day.  They will deliver your luggage and let you know that it typically takes about half a day.  Later that day, just call down to bell services in your new resort and find out if your luggage has arrived.  The good news is that you can go and enjoy the parks during the day and you don't need to rush over to the new hotel to check in.

I have always found that the smaller the child, the more "stuff" that they have!  When my boys were little, it took a few days to get into our groove and feel at home in the hotel.  Moving resorts during our stay was just a little bit disruptive to our schedule.  It almost seemed to chop our vacation time when the flow changed.

Of course, this is just my PERSONAL experience with switching resorts when the kiddos were little.  You know your child best and he may love it - whatever you choose, I know that you will have a fabulous vacation!
