Hi!! We are visiting in November; and, the grandparents are joining us. In case they need a place to "sit & rest" and wait for us, where would you recommend that is "quiet" & shaded in MK, EPCOT, & HS? Looking for places

    Hi Jennifer,

How wonderful that your entire family is going on this magical vacation together. The grandparents will surely enjoy watching the grandkids having the time of their lives. However, I can completely understand their desire to find quiet place to "sit and rest". I have several ideas and suggestions.

In Magic Kingdom, a great spot is near Pirates of the Caribbean. This is an area that is less traveled with the exception of those headed over to Pirates of the Caribbean or those making their way to the back entrance to Frontierland. There are a few benches. Depending on the time of day, it might not be as shaded, but it is a little more quiet. Another suggestion in Magic Kingdom is to have them go see either theater show, Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room, Carousel of Progress or Hall of Presidents. These are all in air conditioned buildings and last between 15 minutes to 25 minutes (approximations).

Over at Epcot, I suggest the Rotunda in the American Adventure Pavilion. This area is inside and has a few benches. Not only can you view beautiful artwork around the perimeter, but occurring at regular intervals is the Voices of Liberty, an a cappella group singing American classic folk music. Another great area such as this is the rotunda area in the China Pavilion for the Circle Vision movie, "Reflections of China". The show itself is wonderful, but it is a standing room show with no seating. However, there are benches in the waiting area.

Lastly, at Disney's Hollywood Studios, I like sitting on the benches that line Hollywood Boulevard and Sunset Boulevard. While these are not the quietest spots or most shaded, they are fun since there are constantly sightings of the "Citizens of Hollywood". These comedic performances are a ton of fun to watch and you'll never see the same thing twice.

I hope this offers some fun alternatives for them to enjoy while the rest of the family is off enjoying the parks.
