Hi Heather! Welcome to planDisney! I'm so glad you found us and asked this great question!
How exciting that you're going to have a new experience and what could be more magical than camping at the Walt Disney World Resort?! As you probably noticed, there are a variety of site options to choose from at
The Campsites at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort. Regardless of the type you have reserved, you will be able to bring your own fire pit, provided it meets the required guidelines. Open-air fires are not allowed at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground, therefore, fire pits must have a solid metal top design that prevents an exposed flame and the release of embers or sparks. Additionally, propane-fueled campfire pits that have an exposed flame are not permitted. If you are unsure your fire pit model is permitted, please ask to see a manager before using it.
If you prefer, you can leave the campfire-making to Cast Members at the resort. You can roast marshmallows nightly by the
campfire and stay for a classic Disney
Movie Under the Stars, weather permitting. There are so many amazing recreational offerings, that you might never want to leave the resort! My favorite spot at the resort to stop by, which is also close to the campsites, is
Tri-Circle-D Ranch. This beautiful ranch is home to more than 90 of the most magical horses on Earth, including Cinderella’s Ponies and the majestic horses of Main Street, U.S.A.!
I'm wishing you a fun-filled and memorable camping vacation! If you have more planning questions, please visit us again at

Happy Trails to you!
Smiles,
Lisa
