Greetings, Nic, and welcome to planDisney. I can't think of a better place than the Disneyland Resort to kick off 2026! It's a little early to know exactly what New Year's Eve will look like at the Happiest Place on Earth, but I'm happy to share what we know now and where you'll soon find more details.
The
Hours & Events Calendar is a great resource, with information about attraction refurbishments, entertainment schedules, park hours, and more. It's updated on a rolling basis as far as six weeks out, so check it near the end of November to see if details for December 31 are available. Here's a tip: Use the "Day View" to see which attractions are scheduled to be closed for refurbishment.
You can also keep an eye on the
official Disneyland Instagram account and the
Disney Parks Blog to see if any announcements are shared in the coming weeks about New Year's Eve. In previous years, both Disneyland and California Adventure stayed open later than usual on December 31. Guests enjoyed fun photo opportunities, upbeat music areas, and two fireworks shows! I'm excited to see what's in store for this year.
If you're going to the parks early in the day, consider taking a midday break to rest. That way, you won't be too tired once the evening festivities begin! You should also know that New Year's Eve is a popular day to visit the Disneyland Resort, so certain areas may be busy later in the evening. When it comes to fireworks, keep an eye out for special dining packages that may come with reserved viewing, or plan to watch the show from "it's a small world" or the Rivers of America. These areas offer great views and may not be as busy as Main Street, U.S.A. or Sleeping Beauty Castle.
I hope that you have the most memorable end-of-the-year visit, Nic! Between the heartwarming holiday decorations and the excitement of a new year approaching, I think you'll have an amazing time. If you think of any other questions, please reach out. We're always happy to help here at planDisney!
Your pal,
Kriss
