I am visiting MK next week with my DS-4.5 and DD-2 who is turning 2 during our trip. What are the best things to do? Should one of the character meals be a must? We are not staying onsite, just visiting for the day.

Hi Lindsay!  Oh, your little ones are in for a special day.  I am betting Fantasyland and Toon Town at MK will be your children's favorite part of the park.  There is just so much to do for little ones in those sections.  The attractions are age appropriate and there are many places to meet characters.  But also make sure your son gets a chance to take part on Buzz Lightyear's Space Adventure, a very fun attraction which is located in Tomorrowland.
The great thing about character dining experiences, is that it offers your children one-on-one time with the characters.  You get to sit at the table, enjoy your meal and they come to you.  You can get autographs, take pictures and get lots of hugs.  A few that would be great  for boys or girls at MK are Crystal Palace and Liberty Tree Tavern, but call quickly since you are going in a week.  Hope you have a magical vacation.
