Hello Lisa. Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. I am really sorry to hear that you've experienced a loss within your family. That's a really hard thing.
I've done many 1 day trips and they are always a whirlwind of fun! Even though you will be visiting the park on her birthday, I am curious to know if you'll be arriving to the
Walt Disney World Resort before then. As long as your daughter is under 3 at the time of check-in, even if she turns 3 during the trip, she's still considered free during that vacation and won't need valid theme park admission. I like to consider it a birthday gift from Mickey Mouse himself. However, if you are arriving on her actual birthday and she is 3 years old, she would need valid theme park admission. My daughter is much older now but I know we tried to squeeze as many visits in as possible before her 3rd birthday to save some money while we could.
If you haven't already, I highly suggest checking out the
Planning Guide for Parents of Preschoolers. This comprehensive guide breaks down attractions that might be suitable for your child park by park. You can even listen to a cute Disney Junior Playlist to help get your little one excited for what's to come. Also, when you arrive be sure to grab her a complimentary "It's My Birthday" button. Cast Members and Guests alike will go out of their way to wish your daughter a very Happy Birthday throughout the day.
I really hope you all have a wonderful time celebrating your daughter at
Magic Kingdom Park. I just know the day is going to be filled with such excitement and you will treasure those memories forever. If you have any other questions about your day, I'd love for you to come back and ask me. Enjoy!
