Hello! We are visiting May 4th-9th, I know reservation are only available 60 days out, but we are a party of 10. Can StoryTellers Cafe accommodate our party for breakfast?

    Hi Colin,

Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question. Dining reservations with a large group is a fine art. Storytellers Cafe can accommodate a party of 10, but because it is such a popular dinning options, getting a reservation for a party of that size may be difficult. Don't fear, I am here to help give you the edge in securing a reservations for you and your party.

    1) Split your reservations into two groups. Reservations are available for May 4th and 5th already, so stay on the lookout. You may have better luck making two reservations that split your party rather than one reservation of 10. Someone else in your party will also need to make a reservation for the same date and time as you (you cannot have overlapping reservations on your MyDisney account). Be sure to synchronize your watches and sign up at the same time so you can make real time adjustments if needed. When you arrive, let the Cast Member in charge of check-in know that you're a large group, and they will do their best to seat you all together or nearby.

    2) Continuously check back for openings. If, for any reason, you are unable to make a reservation, don’t let that discourage you. Keep checking for openings, as people may change their plans and a spot could open up.

    3) Try a walk-up reservation. I’ve had luck in the past getting a walk-up reservation at Storytellers. You can also join the Walk-up List through the Disneyland app. When you launch the app, search for Storytellers Café. When the restaurant appears, you will see the option to “Join Walk-up List.” For this option to work, make sure to enable location services on your phone. You can also go old school, and send one person from your party to see if you can secure a reservation.

I hope this information is helpful, Colin. I don’t know if anyone in your group is strong with The Force, but your vacation happens to coincide with Star Wars Day! Disneyland will be celebrating the Season of the Force across the park with amazing food, merchandise, and experiences. Check out the Disney Parks Blog for a guide on everything coming to the park. If you have any other questions or need help planning, feel free to write back to me or one of my fellow panelists. We’d be happy to share our thoughts.

May the Force be with you during your vacation.
