We are visiting in May but staying off site. We would like to watch the outdoor movie, electric water pageant and fireworks from the campground. What is the best transportation option for us and at what time does the last bus/boat leave ?

Hi Melanie! Being a frequent "camper" in Fort Wilderness when we bring our motor coach, I have sat many nights on the beach enjoying the Electric Water Pageant and the Magic Kingdom fireworks. It is a peaceful and nice way to watch although you will miss the lower part of the Wishes show due to trees. They have the sound through their sound system and you will hear the "booms" making you feel like you are almost there. The Electric Water Pageant goes right by the Fort Wilderness marina so that is a special seat to be on the beach watching.

You would be required to park in the front of the resort in the guest parking area. The front gate guard would assist you in where that is located. From there you will need to take the short walk to the bus depot. Look for the orange route bus which will be the one that will be the most direct and take you down to the Pioneer Hall stop. From there it is a short walk to the beach.

For the movie under the stars you will have to backtrack by either walking  back to the main Trading Post or simply reversing your footsteps and taking the orange route bus back that far. Please ask the bus drivers where you wish to go and they will alert you to the correct stop for the movie. The buses will run late into the night until the last Disney Spring or park bus has arrived. That is usually up to about 2:30am so you will not have to worry about missing the last bus of the day.

Enjoy my "home away from home" during your Disney vacation!
