Will be visiting May2011. How much does the Cheerleading & Dance World Championship really affect park crowd levels? Any park in particular?

    Hi Stephen:

I've stayed at Disney World during various Cheerleading & Dance competitions and championships as well as during Pop Warner football. I've never experienced a higher-level of park crowds due to these competitions. I theorize that crowd-levels at the parks are generally not noticeably impacted because many of the kids and parents in attendance are at Disney mostly to compete and not play all day in the parks. When I do see Cheerleaders in the parks, I tend to see them at Magic Kingdom and at Hollywood Studios, though they are free to go anywhere. While the parks do not tend to be notably more crowded during Cheerleading competitions, I find that certain resorts, particularly the value All-Star Resorts (especially Sports) and Pop Century tend to be more crowded with cheerleading participants.

If you are inclined, a non-Disney website, touringplans.com, has tools designed to predict crowd-levels. Some of the services require a subscription.

    Enjoy your vacation.
