We are visiting May 11th -18th 2010 and booked to stay at Coronado Springs. We stayed at the Carribbean Beach Resort in Sep, 2008. What are the pros and cons of Coronado Springs in comparison to Carribbean Beach Resort?

Hi Thomas!  I have stayed at both in the recent months and will be honest to say that I would definitely book again at Coronado Springs but not at Caribbean Beach!

Both resorts will have the same type of amenities as far as recreation and some might argue the pool is a bit better at the Caribbean but for me the room was the selling point for a return visit.  The rooms at Coronado have been recently refurbished and all now have the queen beds versus doubles that all other moderates will have.  The rooms were bright and cheery and had ample closet and bathroom space and wonderful new flat screen TV's.  In fairness, they were putting in new TV's at the Caribbean in late February so all the rooms there should be updated by now in that regard.  But our room there was dark and didn't smell or feel fresh.

I like having an attached resort lobby area and the Coronado Springs resort has that as well as great food options and a full service restaurant that is quite good.  You will also find some spa services at this resort and being a convention location you will find a good business center if you need to send a few emails home.

Some feel they want to shy away from a convention location but in my past visits to these type of resorts I actually find it a plus. Most of the guests are in meetings during the day and not using the resort facilities making them somewhat less crowded.

Hope this helps you make a decision for your future visit!
