We are visiting in March and my son will turn 8 on our last day of our trip. We are going to Animal Kingdom that day and have ADR at Tusker House for character lunch. Can I order a cake to have ready for our lunch? Will they sing happy birthday to him?

    Hi Angela,

Congratulations on your upcoming birthday celebration! My favorite way to celebrate a birthday is with a trip to Walt Disney World. We have celebrated many birthdays at Walt Disney World in my family and we always include a specialty cake as part of our celebration. To order a specialty cake call the phone number listed in this link under the heading of Specialty Cake midway down the page. Please note that you need to call at least 72 hours in advance to order a specialty cake to be delivered to your restaurant. While you are visiting the linked page you should note the other suggestions for customizing your son's celebration. I have tried several of the suggestions and personally love the In-Room Celebrations.

Usually the Cast Members do not sing happy birthday at the restaurants but instead provide a small celebration for the birthday boy such as a card signed by some of the Disney characters. However please feel free to have your family chime in and sing happy birthday to your son! During one of my family's vacations my husband and daughter both celebrated a birthday and so we celebrated their birthdays at Cinderella's Royal Table in Cinderella Castle. I had a specialty cake made for them and it was the highlight of our meal when it was delivered to our table. My family sang the happy birthday song to my husband and daughter and the entire restaurant chimed in! Our custom specialty cake was quite generous and so we served birthday cake to tables sitting close to us. The whole experience was beautiful and spontaneous and filled with the magic only Disney has to provide.
