We are visiting the Magic Kingdom on Saturday and Sunday before Columbus Day. I noticed that the park hours recently changed and the park will open at 8 AM. At what time will they begin letting people into the park and what time should we get there for Ro

Hello Mary! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

Getting a good start to your day at a Walt Disney World Resort Theme Park starts with solid planning. In addition to the earlier start time, you should be able to gain access to Magic Kingdom even earlier thanks to the opening festivities.

The Let the Magic Begin Welcome Show at Magic Kingdom is the official start to a day at Magic Kingdom, begins roughly 5 minutes before scheduled Theme Park opening and concludes with "Rope Drop". In preparation for the Let the Magic Begin Welcome Show (which occurs on the steps of Cinderella Castle), Guests are granted access to Main Street, U.S.A. 25-45 minutes before the show is scheduled to begin.

During this time, Guests may peruse the wares in Main Street Emporium, grab a bite to eat (or essential coffee) at Main Street Bakery and prepare themselves for the Endlessly Magical day ahead.

I recommend that you plan to be at the Let the Magic Begin Welcome Show in order to participate in Rope Drop at least minutes before showtime and plan on arriving at Magic Kingdom by 7:20am in order navigate Security Gates, Ticket Gates and Main Street, U.S.A. in order to do so.

    Have a Great Morning!
