Hi John!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I'm so excited for your family because you dine with Mickey and his pals AND take in all of the beauty of Magic Kingdom Park in its holiday glory today! Pro Tip: Definitely check out the
larger-than-life Gingerbread Display at Disney's Contemporary Resort located across the atrium from Chef Mickey's.
All guests with a Disney
Dining Reservation at a location in a Disney Resort Hotel do receive up to five hours of complimentary parking at that resort hotel so they can dine at their own leisure. This is very convenient for getting to breakfast, especially with an early reservation and small children.
If you choose to park in the
Magic Kingdom Park parking lot, you'll take the Resort Monorail from the Ticket and Transportation Center to Disney's Contemporary Resort Hotel. The bonus of this method is since your car will already be parked for the day, your family will get to use the smaller and expedited Bag Check and Security Areas when leaving breakfast. There are technically two of these for the Contemporary: one is located at the Monorail entrance on the Contemporary's 4th floor, and the other is on the walking pathway between the Contemporary and Magic Kingdom Park.
If it were me, I'd park at Disney's Contemporary Resort for breakfast, and then have one person in my party re-park the car while the rest of us made our way over to Magic Kingdom Park. I'd send all of the gear and bags with the main group so the re-parker can utilize a 'Guests without Bags' security area as it's much faster.
We'll See You Real Soon, John!
