We are visiting Magic Kingdom on 2/19/18. We aren’t staying on resort and have a reservation for Chef Mickey’s at 7:05am with plans to go to the park afterwards. Where is the best place to park and then what is the best way to transport to Chef Mickey’s?

    Hi Natasha,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thank you for your question. Your trip is coming up so soon, and I’m super excited for you. Chef Mickey’s is such a fun way to start a Magic Kingdom Park day!

Natasha, the logistics for parking before park opening can be a little tricky, so hang in there while I explain. My advice is to park at Disney’s Contemporary Resort – be sure to have your Chef Mickey’s reservation number or a printed confirmation on hand, as this will be your pass in to the resort parking area. Please note, though, that you will not be able to leave your car at the resort after breakfast. After the meal, have one member of your party drive over to the Walt Disney World Transportation and Ticket Center, park the car, and then take the monorail or ferryboat to Magic Kingdom Park. The rest of your party can either walk over to Magic Kingdom Park from Chef Mickey’s (it’s a short walk), or ride the monorail.

I know that sounds a little chaotic, but I think it’s the best way to handle this pre-park opening reservation. I can’t guarantee that the Transportation and Ticket Center or the monorail will be open early enough for you to make it to your reservation on time, and I’d hate for you to find yourself stuck. Once you’ve parked the car and made it to Magic Kingdom Park, you’ll be ready to “enter the world of yesterday, tomorrow, and fantasy” and you’ll leave your parking woes behind on the enchanted parking tram.

Enjoy Chef Mickey’s, and have a magical day at Walt Disney World Resort!
