We are visiting 11/11-11/16 with 2 kids. Need advice on what to pack. I tend to overpack, so I am trying to streamline things. Shorts for day, pants at night? I live in PA, so shorts are almost out of the stores. Is it still sandal weather? Thanks!

    Hi Alison,

November can be tricky.  Make sure you check the Orlando forecast before you leave just to make sure there isn't any unseasonably warm or cool weather.  I think you're ideas for packing sound about right.  Shorts in the day and pants for evening will work.  You'll want to make sure you pack a sweatshirt or jacket for evening too.  Once the sun goes down, it can get a little chilly.  My kids are usually fine with a hooded sweatshirt.  I find that a lot of times they can get by wearing their shorts from the day time as long as they have a jacket.  I wouldn't go crazy packing a pair of pants for each evening - a couple pairs should do the trick.

Sandals work, but with kids, sneakers are your best option.  There is a lot of walking involved, so having a comfortable pair of sneakers is a must.

It's always a good idea to pack rain ponchos.  They don't take up too much space, and they'll definitely come in handy if the weather is damp.

Don't forget sunscreen and a bathing suit.  If the weather is nice, the pools are heated, and you'll probably want to take a dip.

Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Diane, Georgia

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
