We will be visiting in June. This is our 4th visit, but our first stay at the Polynesian. What longhouse would you recommend for our 8,6,and 5 yr old to be close to pool, beach, and restaurants. What do you recommend as a must see/do while at the poly

    Hi Lori!

Having just stayed at the Polynesian, I can say you are in for a treat!

The Polynesian is unlike any of the other resorts. I'm sure you are familiar with how well Disney carries out the theme in all the details of all their resorts, but at the Polynesian, you'll really feel immersed in it! You'll receive a welcome packet upon check in with various resort activities listed along with times and locations. A few of my favorites are the hula dancing lessons and the torch lighting ceremony. From the beach, you have a beautiful view of Magic Kingdom and the fireworks, in addition to the Electrical Water Pageant. There is a campfire sing a long and outdoor movie guests of the Polynesian are welcomed at over at the neighboring Grand Floridian Resort. There are days with some hours of "open house" where parents can bring their kids and participate in a craft at the Neverland Club. In addition, you'll find fun activities at the pool where the whole family can join in everyday.

Rarotonga (my first choice), Niue, and Samoa longhouses are in close proximity to the Great Ceremonial House, and both of the pools. The beaches are near by, just a short, and really enjoyable walk from each. The landscaping throughout makes all the views from the rooms really beautiful. I would also suggest that if it is very important to you to have a higher likelihood of having your request granted, that you make you preferences known to the resort within a week of your arrival. While cast members do a wonderful job of trying to make all the guests happy, not all requests can be meet. The Polynesian is a very popular resort and honoring requests can be even more difficult once you are already there if all the rooms are booked.

I hope this helps your family look forward to a magical vacation! Aloha!
