Visiting in June, have been saving+planning 2 years to make this happen for my 2 boys, 4 and 6. Planning to stay at beautiful POFQ. But would love to stay on monorail. Price difference for Cont. is $800 more. Is it worth the extra money in your opinion?

Hi Lauri, You have chosen a beautiful Resort for your WDW vacation! POFQ is my favorite of the moderate Resorts, you are sure to find it's beauty to be captivating.

I understand the lure of the monorail, and why you are considering switching to the Contemporary because of it. The Contemporary is gorgeous Resort. In my opinion however, based on the 2 years you've been saving for this trip, it sounds like the $800 might come in handy for other splurges while you are at Disney. While the monorail is convenient to get to Epcot and the Magic Kingdom Park from the Contemporary (and all monorail resorts), you will still need to use Disney's shuttle busses to get to the Animal Kingdom Park, Disney's Hollywood Studios, Downtown Disney and the water parks. Anyone is welcome to ride the monorail, even if they aren't staying in one of the connected resorts. In addition, if you make reservations for restaurants like Chef Mickey's or 'Ohana, you'll be sure to fit in a trip on the monorail for your boys.

If it were me, I'd use the $800 for souvenirs, character meals and other fun memory makers while at Disney. For example, you could contact Disney's Dream Makers and have a "welcome" surprise with plush Mickey's waiting in the room, or many other exciting options. Click HERE for more information. You could give each boy a $100 Disney Gift Card to choose their own souvenirs (although, I'd hold on to them in your purse if I were you).

As you can see, Lauri, there are countless options. Whatever you decide, I am wishing you a Magical vacation that is everything you've dreamed and more. Thanks for visiting the Moms Panel and let us know if we can help you with any other questions you may have.
