Hi - We are visiting in July! I wanted to make reservations for a Paint the Night Parade dining package (lunch) and the World of Color Dessert Party on the same day. Is this possible to do timing wise? Do you really have to arrive 1 hour prior for dessert?

Hello, Rachel! Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Your vacation to the Happiest Place on Earth will be here before you know it!

I’m so glad that you are planning to enjoy some of the spectacular nighttime entertainment offered in the parks. Paint the Night is my favorite parade and should be on the top of everyone’s must-do list, in my opinion. So, booking a dining package to secure your viewing area is a really smart idea. Exact show times for World of Color and Paint the Night in July aren’t quite available yet, but at the end of June, it is showing that Paint the Night will begin at 8:50 p.m. and World of Color will start at 10:15 p.m. If this schedule continues into your travel dates, it might be possible to do both events but the timing will be tight.

World of Color Dessert Party Guests are asked to show up to the viewing area an hour before the start of the show, but some folks will line up before then to get the best seats. In past experience, there were two rows of tables that were typically assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. My guess is that you will be finished watching the parade from your reserved viewing location by about 9:15-9:30 p.m. and then would have to navigate your way through the crowds to check in for the dessert party. Just keep in mind that if you arrive a little late, you may have the last choice in table selection and your service may be a tad rushed. My suggestion would be to enjoy the different entertainment offerings on separate nights. This would ensure you get the optimal experience for both dining packages.
