We will be visiting in July, staying at Poly. Friends will be at Shades of Green. Any announcements about planned closure of the walking path between the two resorts due to construction?

Hey there, hi there, ho there, Lisa! You're as welcome as can be here at planDisney. Thank you so much for stopping by with your question!

Just yesterday, the Shades of Green Resort announced the permanent closure of the walkway between the hotel and Disney's Polynesian Village Resort on May 1, 2023. Unfortunately, this means that you and your friends will not be able to use this path to walk between both hotels, but not all is lost! In fact, Shades of Green said that they would be adding extra buses to the Transportation and Ticket Center, so you shouldn't run into any trouble during your magical vacation later this year.

Lisa, your friends will be able to reach you quite easily. All they need to do is hop on a bus to the Transportation and Ticket Center and then walk or take the Resort Monorail over to the Polynesian! If they're headed to Magic Kingdom Park, they'll need to hop on the bus and then ride the Monorail or ferry boat straight to the park. The travel time between the Shades of Green Resort and the Transportation and Ticket Center is approximately 7 minutes long, and the best part is that they can sit in the air conditioning the entire time!

I hope this helped clarify your concerns, Lisa. If you have any other questions for us, please don't hesitate to reach back out to us again. Remember that we're always available and more than happy to help! See you real soon!

    Warm hugs,
