Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel Ashley ~
You are right! It is hot in Orlando in July but there are ways to stay cool. Here are some suggestions:
* Bring a cooling towel that you can put around your neck. There are a lot of different kinds out there that work really well.
* Buy a small handheld fan and clip-on fans for strollers (bring extra batteries).
* Get a misting fan. These are available for purchase in the parks if you forget to bring one.
* Wear light colored clothing made of lightweight moisture wicking fabric.
* Use a visor instead of a hat (they are cooler in the heat).
* Drink lots of water.
* Bring an umbrella - it provides shade as well as rain protection.
* If you are staying on property, take advantage of morning and evening
Extra Magic Hours when the temperatures are more pleasant.
* Take a break and go back to your resort for a swim.
* Visit one of the water parks.
* Seek out attractions and shows where you can spend more time in the air conditioning such as The Hall of Presidents or the Carousel of Progress.
* If you will be using a stroller, put a white towel over the top to reflect the sun's rays.
You are more than welcome to bring water into the parks. Just keep in mind that glass bottles (other than baby food jars) are not permitted in the parks.
There are "misting stations" in the parks. In the Magic Kingdom, there is a location near the Jungle Cruise.
If you are a Disney Vacation Club (DVC) Member, you can visit the DVC Member Lounge in the Imagination Pavilion in Epcot.
Please feel free to visit us with all of your planning questions. We are hEAR for you!
Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison V.
