Hi Rebecca,
Welcome to planDisney and thank you for your question!
Wow, how exciting! I had a big family vacation at the Walt Disney World Resort a few years ago and it was great. You all will be able to make some great memories!
When it comes to the
My Disney Experience mobile app, I would suggest that each smaller family group create their own My Disney Experience account. This way, like you mentioned, everyone has the flexibility to do their own thing. Keep in mind if you purchased the
tickets with your account, they will only be visible to the other guests in your party if you link accounts, otherwise you’d be responsible for everyone’s bookings.
If each group has at least one My Disney Experience account, each of their accounts can be linked to yours and vice versa, which will allow you and that other party to see each other’s plans. To link accounts, you’ll want to select the three horizontal lines in the My Disney Experience mobile app and scroll to “My Profile”. Next, select “Family & Friends List” and select the person’s name you’re trying to link accounts with. Then, you can choose “Send Email” which will give them a notification via email letting them know you want to link accounts. Once they accept, you’ll be able to see each other’s plans.
You’d want to do the above for any family group that wants to have their own account (guests must be 13 years old and older). They would then be in charge of their Theme Park reservations, but you’d be able to see their upcoming plans and book things together as needed. For those that might not want an account, you or anyone with an account would be responsible for linking their tickets, booking
Theme Park reservations, and purchasing
Disney Genie+.
I hope this “Bit By Bryanna” helps as you plan for your great, big, beautiful family trip. If you have any other planning or vacation questions,
please feel free to reach out, I’m always happy to help!
The Magic Is Calling,
Bryanna
