I am visiting January 27-30, 2014. My daughter is 8 with Downs Syndrome. Several posts says I should obtain a Guest Assistance Card beforehand. Could you send me the email or phone number to call ahead of time. Would the stroller still fit a 52 lbs. child?

Hello Trish!  Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.  Guest Assistance Cards cannot be obtained in advance, and can only be obtained at Guest Relations at the four theme parks.  You'll want to stop in at the first theme park you visit, and speak with a Cast Member, and they will determine which Guest Assistance Card would be most  suitable for your daughter.  Once issued, the Guest Assistance Card you receive will be valid throughout your stay.

The strollers that are available for rent in the theme parks are the hard plastic type, and they are pretty sturdy.  I have read several reports that children in the 50 - 60lb range have used them without a problem. You may want to bring a soft blanket or something for her to sit on, as the strollers can be somewhat uncomfortable for little bottoms!

Trish, I hope this information is helpful to you.  If you have any other questions before your Walt Disney World vacation, I would be more than happy to help you - just ask!  Have a magical day!
