We are visiting Jan 18, 2010 till the 23rd. Our daughter will be 2 1/2. What parks do you recommend seeing? How busy is it this time of year? Also she is a huge Mickey Fan. Where can we make sure we find him?

    Hi Katie,

Taking your little girl to Walt Disney World will be a magical vacation!  Seeing her eyes light up at all of the many sights and sounds will be something you'll treasure for years to come.

Late January is a great time to go if you're looking for light crowds.  The Holiday rush is over and the Spring Break crowds haven't begun to arrive.  You will be coming in on the Martin Luther King Day holiday, so that Monday could be quite crowded.  As the week progresses, you'll see a significant decrease in park attendance -- perfect for exploring with a little one.

Your stay is long enough that you can enjoy each park for one day.  There is something worth seeing in all of them, so I really recommend seeing as much as possible.

No trip would be complete without meeting Mickey Mouse!  He can be found in every park; just check your daily park guide for locations and times.  Of course, you can also dine with Mickey at several restaurants throughout Disney.  He can be found at Chef Mickey's, Garden Grill in Epcot, Tusker House at Animal Kingdom during breakfast, and at the 'Ohana Character Breakfast in the Polynesian Resort.

Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Diane, Georgia

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
