Visiting in Jan. Have 7pm res. for Yacht. Steak. on Deluxe DDP. Would we have enough time to get back to Epcot for 9pm Illuminations? Also, what is the easieast way to get from Epcot to Yacht. for dinner and back, easy walk or not (3 kids -14,6,3)?

    Hi Jennifer,

It sounds like you have a lovely evening planned!  Getting to Disney's Yacht Club Resort from Epcot is so easy.  Exit Epcot by the International Gateway between the United Kingdom and France pavilions.  If your kids (or you) are tired, board a Friendship Boat right outside the turnstiles.  This boat will take you to Disney's Yacht Club Resort.  If you're not tired, it is a lovely 15 minute walk from the International Gateway to the Yachtsman Steakhouse.  I have walked this same pathway a number of times.  It's a beautiful, easy walk along Crescent Lake.

As for whether you would conclude your meal before the 9 pm presentation of Illuminations, I'm a bit doubtful.  You won't want to rush your delicious meal at the Yachtsman Steakhouse.  This is a signature dining experience so the meal will be served at a relaxed pace unless you indicate to your server that getting back to Epcot by 9 pm is a priority.  If that is the case, I suggest you arrive early for your dinner reservation.  Perhaps they will seat you before 7 pm.  If you conclude your meal too close to 9 pm to get back to Epcot on time, simply enjoy the fireworks from the dock at the Yacht and Beach Club Resorts.  I watched Illuminations from that very spot last December.  While you can't hear the narration that accompanies the presentation, you will be able to enjoy the lovely fireworks as they explode high in the night sky.

Wishing you a truly magical vacation this coming January!
