We are visiting Jan. 16-18, 2010 and I was floored by how many hotels are all booked up at Disney and in the surrounding area...what's going on? Usually it's a low crowd time

Hi, Rebecca,   While January is a relatively slow time at Walt Disney World, the weekend of January 16th may be busier due to Martin Luther King Jr Day on Monday, January 18.  Since many have off of school and work in honor of this holiday, families may be taking advantage of the long weekend and heading to WDW.

To be prepared for an increase in guests at WDW, make sure to make your dining reservations at (407)WDW-DINE and have your resort booked and even do resort online check-in before you leave home to save time when you arrive for your vacation.

Hopefully you will find the crowds to be manageable.  Have a great time on your magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the snow and cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is hiking at a National Park, sailing on a Disney Cruise Ship, or going to Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. My husband proposed to me in front of Cinderella Castle and we have not stopped visiting ever since! It's a blast helping guests here at planDisney!
