Hi Kelsey,
I'm super excited to hear that you're planning a Disney vacation with your family
and your parents. You are going to LOVE experiencing the magic together and will surely make memories that you'll cherish for a lifetime.
As a group of five, I'm happy to tell you that there are many
Disney Resort hotel rooms that can accommodate your entire party if you all want to stay in one room. Family Suites would be great because they have three separate sleeping areas, or a
one-bedroom Deluxe Villa that sleeps five would be a great option as well. If you'd prefer to have two separate rooms, yes, you are definitely free to book two rooms and request that they be adjoining (which in "Disney speak" means nearby, perhaps across the hall) or connected (which in "Disney speak" means next door with a connecting door between them). Nearly every
Disney Resort hotel offers connected rooms, and while Disney cannot guarantee any room requests, they'll do their best to honor your request. I'd encourage you to
call and chat with a Cast Member who would be happy to make sure that you find a Resort hotel where that's possible if that's the route you decide to go.
Once you've decided where you'd like to stay and have made your reservations, you'll want to make sure that you're all linked together via the
Family & Friends list in My Disney Experience. Beginning 180 days before your arrival, you'll be able to make
dining reservations together, and with a Disney Resort hotel stay booked and valid
theme park tickets linked, you'll be able to make
FastPass+ selections together beginning 60 days in advance. That's when you'll really start to see your itinerary come together and can start counting down the days until all of the magic and fun begin! Did you know that one other perk to planning together is that you'll be able to share one
Memory Maker purchase to help keep the moments of your magical vacation fresh for years to come?
Thanks so much for bringing another great question to us at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Kelsey, and we hope that you'll keep them coming as we love sharing in the joy and magic with you. I hope that you and your entire family have a truly magical vacation together next year!
