    We're visiting HS on my son's 5th birthday this October (a Weds.). The one gift he wants is to fight Darth Vader (Jedi Training Academy). Reading online, it seems cut throat to get a spot. Any tips or tricks?

    Hi Megan!

    There is no better place to celebrate a birthday than at Walt Disney World!  

    Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple at Disney's Hollywood Studios is such a fantastic experience for kids!  My son participated last week and could not stop talking about it all day.  The best tip I have for you is to plan on getting there early, before park opening, and go directly to Indiana Jones Adventure Outpost for registration.  We arrived at 9:45AM on a day the park opened at 9:00AM and were placed on the wait list as all the confirmed spots for the day were taken.  One adult and the child participating need to be present to register.

    The way the wait list works is that you still register your child.  You can come back 20 minutes before each show to check if there are any no-shows.  If there are spots available, they go in order of when you registered.  Luck was on our side that day because my son was able to get a spot in the first show we tried.  If you end up on the wait list, please know that there could still be an opportunity to participate.  The Cast Member who registered us told us we had a better chance later in the day, but to check-in for as many as we could.  

    There is plenty of Star Wars fun to be had at Disney's Hollywood Studios!  Be sure to check out Star Wars Launch Bay to visit with some familiar characters from the film.  We like to carry a little bag of trinkets in case the Jawas wandering around would like to trade with us.
