We’ll be visiting Hollywood Studios for the first time in the fall. Do you think my 8 year old daughter would enjoy the Jedi Training Academy? She has 3 brothers so we know ALL ABOUT Star Wars! Thx for all the help, our trip plans are coming together! :o)

    Hi Virginia,

I know that you are counting down the days to your trip! Are you too excited to sleep yet? Next to the Magic Kingdom, Disney's Hollywood Studios is my second favorite park - my whole family loves it.

I think your daughter will LOVE the Jedi Training Academy (JTA) especially since she knows all about Star Wars. I've seen lots of girls participate every time I've watched it.  JTA is located near Star Tours & registration will be near the stage - any Cast Member in the area can direct you. Guests must be between the ages of 4 & 12 to participate.

After completing their training, each participant "battles" Darth Vader. The number of participants is limited and they start registration first thing in the morning and stop once the spots are filled for the day (they usually fill up fast during peak seasons). If this is something your sons & daughter would like to participate in, head that way first. They will need to be present with you to register because they will ask participants a couple of questions to make sure they can follow some basic directions.

JTA is held several times a day. The times will be listed on your Times Guide that you pick up along with your Guide Map when you enter the park. You can also pick them up at Guest Services & most merchandise locations.

There will be a PhotoPass Photographer during the show getting shots of all of the participants. Following the session, be sure to stop by so that he/she can give you a slip of paper with instructions on how to get those pictures added to your Disney PhotoPass.

Wishing you many magical memories :-) Allison
