As an alum of my own high school's marching band, I understand the pride, pageantry, and tradition associated with donning the uniform and representing the school and community! I have so many fond memories of learning where to march on the football field, practicing the music until it was perfect, and bonding as a marching band family. My band never got to march down Main Street, U.S.A., but I'm so glad you are interested in seeing some talented high school musicians and performers do just that!
I spoke with a Cast Member at
Disney Imagination Campus about your question, and I'm happy to report that high school bands do still participate in performances prior to the
Festival of Fantasy Parade. There are a variety of performance locations, but bands can request to march and perform just prior to this parade in
Magic Kingdom Park, subject to availability and travel dates. Questions about a particular performance can be fielded by the school's band director who will have all the details about dates and times of performances.
While you wait on Main Street for the band to arrive, why not grab a snack? My family loves the sweet and salty create-your-own popcorn mix from Kernel Kitchen at
Main Street Confectionery. My daughter always requests Twix pieces and M&Ms, and I have to admit it is a fantastic combination!
