Hi, Christine! Thanks so much for bringing this question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
Christine, I just visited the Walt Disney World Resort with my father-in-law, who is unable to walk long distances, and I was so pleasantly surprised at how accessible the attraction queues were for people with
mobility issues. The queue for
Avatar Flight of Passage is absolutely ECV and wheelchair friendly, allowing those with mobility issues to remain in the queue with the rest of their party. One thing to note is that ECV's are not allowed into the pre-show, which can be rather long, so if standing for more than 20 minutes would present a problem, a courtesy wheelchair is available. This manual wheelchair can be brought all the way to the ride vehicle itself. If you think that your party member will need the courtesy wheelchair, simply notify the Cast Member at the entrance to the ride, and they will make sure it is available. While wheelchairs can be brought to the ride vehicle itself, the riding guest will have to transfer and sit in a crouching position, similar to riding on a motorcycle, so you may want to make sure this will not be a challenge for them before riding. Once seated in this position, they will not be able to move until the attraction is over, which is about 5-6 minutes.
I fully believe multi-generation trips create the best memories, and I know you will have the most magical time, Christine. Please come back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel if we can be of any help as you plan your Walt Disney World vacation.
