Hello! We are visiting the fort later this year and have reserved a premium site. We have friends staying with us who want to stay in a tent. they have an air mattress due to no sand. Are tents still allowed with a travel trailer on site?

Thanks for asking this great question about camping in Fort Wilderness resort at Walt Disney World. It is one of the best places to camp or "glamp" and my husband and I come often and stay for several weeks.

The premium camping sites were designed so they could accommodate the large motor coaches but all recreational vehicles can use them. They will have long concrete pads and depending on the site they will be surrounded by some sort of vegetation. You can put up a tent on the site with a travel trailer but as you mentioned there will be no sand to secure a tent. Many guests try to place it just off the pad but that can not be a guarantee because of the vegetation. Please be careful about securing the tent in case of bad weather and high winds but other then that enjoy being together. And yes encourage some air mattresses so they can be comfortable!

Enjoy reading about the Fort Wilderness Campground and see all the great amenities that this resort offers the guests. It is such a wonderful and peaceful place to come back to after some hectic and crowded park hours. You will love calling it your home away from home for your vacation.
