Hey there, Joanna, and a warm welcome to planDisney!
I’m thrilled to hear you’re planning a visit to the Walt Disney World Resort between
Christmas and New Year’s! That time of yEAR is truly something special. There’s nothing quite like the magic of Main Street, U.S.A., twinkling with holiday lights, festive music in the air, and that extra bit of pixie dust that only this time of year brings. It’s a bucket-list week for many Guests… and yes, also one of the busiest!
You’re absolutely right that during this time of year, the parks can occasionally reach capacity. And while having a
dining reservation is wonderful (and something I always recommend during busy seasons), it doesn’t guarantee entry if the park has already reached its capacity limit.
If you’re staying at a
Disney Resorts Collection hotel, you’ll have a little extra peace of mind. Historically, Disney has prioritized entry for on-site Guests if the park reaches phased closure. Another way to set yourself up for success is to arrive early in the day to make sure you’re already inside the park well before those holiday crowds peak.
And since we’re talking holiday strategy, here’s a personal tip from me to you: I love
booking an early lunch or dinner reservation during those busy days. It gives you a guaranteed break from the hustle and bustle to enjoy a cozy meal and soak up the festive atmosphere from a quiet table inside.
Wishing you a holly-jolly visit filled with twinkling lights, magical moments, and maybe even a Mickey-shaped peppermint treat (because holiday calories don’t count at Disney, right?).
Hoping you have the merriest time! ~Emille
