Hi we'll be visiting for the first time WDW from feb15 to feb22. I only have 1 dinner reservation. Everything I'm looking for is full, is there any chance once we're there that we could check the same restaurant and there would be places? I'm freaked out!

    Hi Stephanie!

Congratulations on your first vacation in Walt Disney World!  I bet that you are getting really excited!  Yes, you can try for walk-up reservations when you are down in Walt Disney World on vacation.  There are sometimes no shows or people who cancel their dining reservations.  Although it is not guaranteed that there will be availability for a walk-up reservation while you are there, it doesn't hurt to ask.  I would also encourage you to look at dining in the Resorts of Walt Disney World because they have fabulous restaurants and they often are not totally booked up in the middle of the day like the restaurants in the Theme Parks.  For example, the Kona Cafe at the Polynesian Resort, The Grand Floridian Cafe at the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa, or the Wave at the Contemporary Resort are just a short Monorail or boat ride away from the Magic Kingdom.  If you are at Epcot, you could walk out the International Gateway to Beaches and Cream (my favorite) or the many other great restaurants in the Epcot Resort area.  Another one of my best tips when making Advanced Dining Reservations is to try for times that are outside the normal dining times like in the middle of the afternoon or in the evening after 8:00 pm.  There is often more availability at restaurants if you are looking for non-traditional mealtimes.  You can always ask us Moms and Dads which restaurants are our favorites or which ones we would recommend!

I hope that your first Walt Disney World vacation is truly magical in every way!

    Keep Dreaming Big!
