    Hi! I will be visiting for the first time, but unfortunately can no longer take my niece with me. When meeting characters, can I record the encounter? Also, ask a character to wave/say hello to my niece, to the eventually show her at a later time?

    Hi Janeria! I’m sorry to hear that your niece won’t be able to join you for your visit to Mickey and Minnie’s Florida home, but I am so glad that YOU are getting to visit in just over a month! I hope you’ve got your “countdown to Disney” started! It’s going to be here before you know it!

    One of the great joys of any visit to the Walt Disney World Resort is meeting our favorite characters! To answer your questions, YES! and YES! You are welcome to record your encounter with the characters AND you are more than welcome to ask the characters to wave to your niece! 

    The characters always make visits special for Guests! I am an elementary school principal. Any time my students take a vacation to the Walt Disney World Resort, I always tell them, “Say ‘hello’ to Mickey for me!” One student asked his mom to record his encounter with Mickey in Town Square Theater at Magic Kingdom Park. The student walked up to Mickey and said, “My principal wanted me to say ‘hello’ to you!” Mickey made a heart sign with his hands and put it on his chest. The mom sent the video to me. It is one of my favorites to this very day!

    So, have that phone ready to meet the characters! I am sure they will wave, blow kisses, and make hearts for your niece (and you too)!
