I am visiting for the first time in September. I am worried I won’t see the 70th celebrations because of Halloween. Will they be ran along side each other like WDW did for their 50th - I was lucky enough to visit then and saw both celebrations in Sept.

Heya, hiya, Lynsey! Sending you warm greetings from sunny California, USA—welcome to planDisney!

It's wonderful to hear that you're planning your first visit to the Happiest Place on Earth in September—what a fantastic time to experience the magic, especially with the Disneyland Resort 70th Celebration festivities! I certainly understand why you're curious about how this special event will share the stage with the spooktacular fun of Halloween Time, particularly given your experience seeing the Walt Disney World Resort’s 50th Celebration alongside other seasonal events. You've hit on a great point: Disney truly excels at layering magical experiences for Guests!

While the exact daily schedule for how everything will perfectly align in September is a little secret Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse are holding onto for just a bit longer, don't you worry! A milestone like the 70th Celebration is a grand, resort-wide event designed to sparkle for many months. This means its unique touches and special offerings are woven throughout the resort, shining brightly even as seasonal transformations, like Halloween Time, unfold.

Speaking of spooky fun, you’re in for a real treat in September, Lynsey! Main Street, U.S.A. will be transformed with pumpkins and autumnal decor, characters in their trick-or-treating best, and the ghoulishly grand Haunted Mansion Holiday. There are often other special treats and even themed fireworks spectaculars, like Halloween Screams, on select nights. It’s a season full of spirited fun!

And while all that wonderful Halloween fun is in full swing, the 70th Celebration will undoubtedly continue to cast its own festive glow across the resort! Exactly how its special entertainment—including showstoppers like the Paint the Night parade or the Better Together: A Pixar Pals Celebration! parade—may harmonize with the Halloween festivities is one of those exciting surprises that Disney will reveal closer to September. But you can be confident that Disney excels at blending these magical occasions. You'll likely still find lots of unique 70th touches, from decor to merchandise, beautifully complementing the spooky season, ensuring you experience the best of both enchanting worlds.

My best advice is to keep a keen eye on the Disney Parks Blog and the Disneyland Resort website as your September visit approaches. Once the official entertainment schedules are released (usually a few weeks in advance), you’ll have a clear picture of all the 70th Celebration festivities and Halloween Time happenings.

Lynsey, visiting during such a unique period offers a double dose of enchantment for your first trip! Imagine the vibrant energy of the 70th Celebration combined with the playful spookiness of Halloween Time. It’s bound to be an unforgettable experience. If any more questions pop into your head as you plan, please don’t hesitate to come back and visit us here at planDisney!

    Have a magical day!
