We are visiting in February and staying at Pop Century. Is there a replacement for the Magical Express in the works? I'd be happy to pay for transportation, just not sure what options will be available for 2022. Thank you!

Hello there, Josh. Welcome to planDisney. I see that you have a trip planned to the Most Magical Place on Earth early next year. There's no better way to kick off a new year than a trip to Walt Disney World. Fun!

Josh, as of right now, there isn't necessarily another option to get from the airport to Walt Disney World being provided by Disney and I really don't think there is anything in the works. However, there are plenty of options from outside companies to get you there so no worries! The first option I'd suggest and the one I actually use right now is to use a ride-share service. I find them to be so timely when getting from the airport to Walt Disney World that I think it is well worth the cost of the ride. Both major companies service the area so you can use whichever one you like best. I actually like to check both before calling a car because sometimes one company will be running a special or promotion. If you aren't comfortable using a ride-share service, there are always taxis waiting at the airport to take people wherever they need to go. You don't need to call one as they are always waiting just outside the doors queued up. I find them to also be timely but they do cost more than using a ride-share service. Another idea is to hire a car to pick you up. A quick internet search will turn up all kinds of companies providing this service. You can fire a Towncar, SUV, passenger van and if you want to arrive in style - even a limo. I've also seen that the company Mears that Disney actually contracted the Magical Express through is offering a new service called Mears Connect. They are offering shuttles back and forth either on a first-come, first-serve basis where you'll rideshare with others or you can hire them privately to take you to Walt Disney World so that is an option as well. The other option I can come up with is to rent a car and drive to Walt Disney World. I've done this drive several times and it's really easy. I actually like having my own car to get around the Walt Disney World resort and it's nice to be able to stop along the way and pick up some snacks and drinks to have in the room.

I hope this helps give you some ideas on how to get to the Walt Disney World Resort for your vacation, Josh. If you have any other questions, please feel free to stop back by and ask me. I'm here to help. Have fun and happy planning!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
