Hi! Visiting with my family in October Where is the best place to see the first showing of Paint the Night and Halloween Screams after?

Hi Jennifer, and welcome to planDisney! Are you ready to be spellbound by the spooky delights of Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort? From hand-carved pumpkins on Main Street, U.S.A. to tasty treats and boo-tiful merchandise, there's so much to enjoy! You have a wonderful evening in the works with two amazing shows on your radar!

Where you choose to watch the shows can depend on your priorities, but I’m happy to share my favorite viewing spot, especially for families. My little ones and I love watching from the "it's a small world" area, and I'm happy to share some reasons why!

    • In my experience, this area tends to be a little more open compared to near the castle or on Main Street, U.S.A. There are even a few benches, although those tend to be taken first.
    • The Paint the Night parade typically begins near "it's a small world" for the first showing, so you'll see it closer to the posted start time (instead of waiting for it to make its way along the parade route).
    • You can watch the Halloween Screams projections on the facade of "it's a small world" and you can see fireworks from there as well (on nights when they are part of the show).
    • You could stay in this area after to catch the Tapestry of Happiness projection show as well. It was recently announced that it will continue during Halloween Time, and it's such a precious celebration of everything that makes Disneyland special.
    • After these shows, you have a few nearby options of where to go next, whether it's the Disneyland Monorail, Fantasyland, the Disneyland Railroad, or other available areas.
Of course, if seeing fireworks over the castle is a must-do for your family, Main Street, U.S.A. is a classic viewing spot. It does get busier, particularly for the first Paint the Night performance and fireworks, so plan to stake out a spot early if that’s your pick!

Jennifer, I hope your visit is filled with Disney magic, Halloween fun, and memories as sweet as a candy apple. If you have any other questions ahead of your trip, please reach out. We're always glad to help here at planDisney!

Wishing you a frightfully fun time,
    Kriss
