Welcome to planDisney, Dave! I'm glad you're here! I am so happy to hear that you have a family vacation planned to
The Most Magical Place on Earth in a few months, and I am honored to help you with this important question.
Faith plays a significant role in the lives of many, and that doesn't change when we're on vacation. Easter is a key holiday, so, understandably, you would want information about services. There are currently no official times for Easter Mass at Walt Disney World Resort. Historically, Mass is held at
Disney's Contemporary Resort at 8 am and 10:30 am in the Fantasia ballroom. While it may be the same this year, that information likely won't be available until very close to Easter week. As a reminder, only hotel guests and those with dining reservations are permitted to park at the resort, so I recommend taking the monorail from Magic Kingdom Park.
Another option is to attend Mass at a local Catholic Church. There are several located near Walt Disney World, but the most convenient one is dependent upon where you are staying, of course. If you won't have a car, you could use a rideshare service. I suggest planning to leave with plenty of time to find parking, because it can be a very busy day for churches, as you know.
I love to visit Walt Disney World during the spring. While Easter week can be crowded, if you plan well and set realistic expectations, it can be one of the best times to go. Several resorts have large chocolate Easter egg displays. My family loved visiting Disney's Beach Club Resort, Disney's Yacht Club Resort, Disney's Grand Floridian Resort, and Disney's Contemporary Resort to view these incredible works of art! I also suggest keeping an eye on
Disney Parks Blog for the release of all the fun Easter-themed treats that will be offered throughout the parks and resorts.
Amorette's Patisserie at
Disney Springs is sure to have some spectacular sweets, as well.
In
Magic Kingdom Park, you'll have the opportunity to meet Mr. and Mrs. Easter Bunny. And be sure to grab a viewing spot for the
Festival of Fantasy Parade on Easter weekend, because there is often a special holiday cavalcade about 15 minutes beforehand. This has not yet been officially announced for this year, so it is subject to change.
The
EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival will be in full swing during your visit, and this may turn out to be the highlight of your trip! With topiaries, the Garden Rocks Concert Series, and Outdoor kitchens, your crew will be ready for spring!
Disney Parks Blog already has some great information on what to expect this year.
Dave, I just know that you are going to make some incredible memories with your family. I hope you all have the most magical time. If there's anything else we can help you with here at
planDisney, please don't hesitate to ask!
