We will be visiting Epcot on March 26th with our three girls ages 12,10 and 3. I am looking for a great place to watch the Illuminations show. Wondering if there is a resturant with a view I could make a reservation at. Thanks so much!

    Hi Gretchen,

Illuminations is a beautiful show, and restaurants with a view are at a premium.  The patio seating at Rose & Crown has long been a coveted spot for watching the fireworks; however, reservations are difficult to come by, and guests will often wait for over an hour to be seated, just to get the spot they want.  La Hacienda de San Angel is a newer restaurant, and the view there is also stunning with huge windows.  Again though, getting a window seat could be tricky.  Bistro de Paris has nice views as well, but it's a little more formal (and pricey) - maybe not what you're looking for with a small child.

Cantina de San Angel is a counter service restaurant with a great little patio.  The only problem there is that it tends to fill up quickly and get really crowded.  Honestly, we usually just grab a snack like kaki gori or school bread and wander around World Showcase Lagoon until we have a decent view of the globe, located in the center of the lagoon. You'll have some obstruction just about anywhere you sit, unless you're willing to block off a spot hours ahead of time, but you'll see enough to be enchanted by the spectacle.

A great location, if it isn't being used for a private party is the terrace in the Italy pavilion.  There is also a small area between France and UK Pavilion that has a relatively unobstructed view.  If you're willing to wait, the best place to view is right at the front of World Showcase, between the gift shops.

Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation!
